Street closed for student move-in day at Carroll

Wright Street, between East Avenue and Charles Street, will be closed to through traffic on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.

A street on the Carroll University campus will be closed to through traffic on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, for freshmen move-in day.

Wright Street, a one-block street between East Avenue and Charles Street, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

About 465 of Carroll’s expected 720 new freshmen will move in to residence halls Aug. 30. Some of the rest of the first-time freshmen are athletes who arrived on campus last week for pre-season practice; the rest are students who will live with family off campus.

Another 710 returning students who live in on-campus housing will move in on Sunday, Sept. 1. In addition to athletes participating in fall sports, many other students, including freshmen orientation leaders, are already on campus for the fall semester.
