Waukesha Kennel Club Dog Show

The Waukesha
Kennel Club
will be hosting the Midwest’s largest dog show where more than
2,200 dogs are expected to compete for the top honors of Best in Show and High
in Trial on July 27 and July 28.

The indoor/outdoor
show is held rain or shine at the Waukesha County Exposition Center at 1000 Northview
Road, Waukesha, Wisc. Some breeds, obedience and agility will be held indoors.

There
will be three types of events dogs will be competing in: conformation,
obedience and rally. Conformation evaluates dogs on their breed’s distinctive
features, obedience tests a dog’s ability to perform a prescribed set of
exercises and rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course
of stations testing obedience skills that has been designed by the judge.
Saturday will feature a special attraction where the cutest of the elite will
compete in the four- to six-month beginner puppy competition
