ReplyFred I don't know where you get your health insurance but with Obamacare you can keep getting your health insurance where you buy it now but if your a small business owner you do not have access to the large pools that big companies have but with Obamacare they will have that access.
The Government has tried to work this out for decades and it needs to run its course. It should be tweaked as we go and not for those that want to abuse the system but for hard working Americans that are tired of paying a thousand dollars a month for a decent health insurance policy.

ReplyJesse if we can get people who do not have insurance to contribute to their health care instead of relying on the rest of us to pay for there benefits how does that hurt the majority of us. We pay for our high rate insurance with high rate deductibles because we are paying for the people that use medical services with out contributing anything to their care. As far as I am concerned Obamacare is more Republican than the Republican Party. Ignore the whiners, and employers and employees will find that they have better health care for less as this program is refined.
What you are calling tax increases I call forced managed health insurance premiums that are necessary to fix a broken system. Congress should be supporting these programs by providing more support in stopping medicare fraud and other fraud facing our government.
The system is broken and right now most of us know we are much better protected with Obamacare. Insurance for our kids while in college and protections from insurance companies attempting to defraud sick people.
It is time to stop talking about the crazy voucher programs and killing Obamacare that have been discussed and move forward.

ReplyI have found it impossible even with high deductibles to get a straight forward answer on Medical charges before or after a procedure. There is not one good local hospital or doctor that I have found that can even answer simple questions. The last time I was quoted something it was 700.00 the bills to date are over 3000.00 for a simple procedure. The medical provider says call your insurance your insurance says call the medical provider the medical providers paid claim processor says call your insurance or medical provider.

ReplyIt would apply to whoever owns the property. Another words you would be able to have no property tax for five years at your current residence if you live in the town. If you sell your house the tax break would stay with the house. Obvious after five years you would fall under the city tax rate which is higher but your Police and Fire and other service would be far superior to your current service. The cost would be high to the City and there recovery would be long but they would have less legal problems in expanding their footprint. Some of the cost could be absorbed by eliminating the lake water deal.

ReplyI am aware of much of the area of the Town and I am going exactly where you think I am. I am aware that the Town has caused taxpayers money through duplication of services and law suits in the past. I think that it is in the interest of both parties to combine the communities and believe that the City of Waukesha should apply some kind of incentive to residents in the town to make the switch. Whether it be free property taxes for five years or something else. The City of Waukesha uses tax incentive to bring businesses into the area why not residents. According to the towns website there are only 3382 residents with a population under 10000. There should be not problem absorbing all the areas I am familiar with.

Replythe 'sha guy - The Town of Waukesha is just that local politics a basic waste of tax payer dollars by duplication of services. And since the Town of Waukesha rights were taken away in the negotiations for the area for the Town of Brookfield acquisition I can't see why it won't happen again. City trumps Town in law. Even if it didn't the benefits to combining the two for business and personal property make the most sense. It would be best for both communities. The City of Waukesha has far superior fire department and is growing while the town is shrinking. I search map of Town of Waukesha on the internet and I can't even find one.

Reply@the sha guy You seem pretty intent on keeping the town seperate from the City. You should face the facts and realize that the town is so intermingled with the City that it should be one and probably will be in the near future. I see town residents using the services the City provides all the time, it is obvious the people in the town would rather live off city residents and not pay there fair share of taxes.

Matt - This is not about alcoholism but about the right to drive while drunk. There is a substantial difference. They can drink all they want they just do not need to get behind the wheel. Although I do agree with you some of alcoholics can be treated many choose not to be.
Assembly proposal 70 requiring some one who gets in an accident should not be required a mandatory of ten years in jail if someone dies. If there was a standard requiring someone with a substantiated history of driving while drinking combined with a .15 or higher I would agree. Since there are an approximate 30000 accidents in the United States per day many causing death that are not alcohol related we cannot truly know which accidents would have occurred anyway.
Lets make the minimum 5 years and require some realistic guidelines. Requiring ten years will cause many guilty persons to walk away because everyone would have to fight every case and many people would be found innocent in this state anyway. Don't pass this bill as it is written it will create additional burden on the legal systems and any opportunity for swift justice will be gone.
If the states in this country want to reduce deaths, accidents and there expenses substantially they should all make a deep investment in speeding up the process for automatic driving controls that have been tested and are on the edge of being implemented.
