ReplyWhile I can understand why Representative Neylon voted the way he did, I would like to hear more about enforcement... especially for AB 110.
How can the state actually tell that someone used more then 1/3 of their FoodShare on junk food?. -

This is a tragic loss. My heart aches for the family and friends of Nani Negron and my prayers are with them.
( I attended the vigil last night . It was a beautiful vigil like Waukesha Girl said . I did not know the victim or her family, I am not a City Official, I just live in the City of Waukesha. I think its important that the community show support for this family.)

ReplyI took a look at the Department of Instruction website:
https://apps2.dpi.wi.gov/sdpr/district-report.action
It looks like South for( 2011 - 2012) scored the lowest of all three high schools(West,South and North) in the Waukesha School District. South is also the lowest (even lower than the state average) for 10th grade reading , language arts, math, science and social studies .
I can't say if that is what he is talking about or not, but it makes me wonder. -

ReplyWIWishes, you are correct in saying that tax dollars have no business in private schools when they, don't have to account to us the taxpayers.
The reality of the situation is that ALL schools that receive taxpayer funding, whether public, private, charter or virtual schools need to have the same standards and be held accountable for them. That then would mean being held accountable to the taxpayers.
My understanding is that there has been discussion of special needs student vouchers. See http://www.jsonline.com/news/education/governor-scott-walkers-voucher-proposal-divides-parents-of-specialneeds-students-l591m92-196215541.html

On the article Would a Tax Credit Get You to Send Your Child to Private School?

ReplyHaving a tax credit doesn't change my mind on whether or not to send my child to a private school.
This bill doesn't damage public education, it supports giving parents another option.
That is unless you think money is more important than a child's quality education. -

Makes me wonder:
What was a Waukesha County Sheriff doing at 230am in Sparta, Wisconsin driving a county- owned vehicle while drunk?
