ReplyI may be wrong, but the 1000ft within school property does not pertain to Colleges or Universities Public or Private. They can enforce you to not enter buildings, but as far as walking down the sidewalk, he cannot be prosecuted. Note: Wis. Stat. § 943.13

ReplyWOW. He had an air-soft gun. He must have painted the end because they have this bright orange tip that you can see from quite a distance away.

ReplyI saw on WISN that the students who reported the man had a "long gun". I also think the discription could be a little better. If you could tell he was 50's you would be able to give an approx body size and skin color.

ReplyI have a few questions on this matter…
How was the man carrying his firearm?
Was it in his hand?
Was it in a hip holster?
Was he open carrying or did it get exposed with concealed carry?
What type of firearm was it (handgun, rifle, shotgun)? These are all questions that could have been reported when the “suspect” was seen.

ReplyThis guy is making us Concealed Carriers look bad. Never pull a gun unless you are prepared to use it. He may have used it as a threat, but what if the other guy was threaten and used his own (if he had one) to protect himself?
They should make an example of him under…
"No person may carry or display a facsimile firearm in a manner that could reasonably be expected to alarm, intimidate, threaten or terrify another person", unless on your own property or business, or that of another person with their consent. Statute 941.2965.
