Man Shot By Waukesha County Deputy Charged With Misdemeanors

Delafield man shot near his mother's feet and was pointing a gun at his father when a Waukesha County deputy shot him, according to a criminal complaint.

A 31-year-old Delafield man who was shot by a Waukesha County deputy has been charged with two misdemeanors following the Jan. 8 incident. Justin G. Ebbe was charged Thursday with endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. According to the complaint: Ebbe’s mother contacted 911 to report Ebbe was suicidal and armed with a shotgun at their home in Delafield. His father was in the room trying to prevent the suicide, but the woman reported Ebbe already shot one round. When Deputy Mike Doud entered the home, he saw Ebbe pointing the shotgun at his father. UPDATED: Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Suicidal Man

Incident remains under investigation in Delafield neighborhood.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday with information about the sheriff's deputy and the suicidal man's identities. A 31-year-old suicidal man in Delafield was shot by a Waukesha County deputy after the man refused to drop a shotgun, according to Fox 6. The man was wounded in the incident that happened around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. He was transported to Froedtert Hospital via Flight For Life, according to the Lake Country Reporter.   The initial 911 caller told Waukesha County dispatch the suicidal man fired one shot.
