School Board Approves Staff Changes for Principals, Others at Waukesha Schools

Changes at Meadowbrook, Horning, STEM and virtual schools.

The Waukesha School Board approved the following staffing changes at its recent meeting: New Staff for Virtual School In another staffing matter, the school board approved a logistics and marketing manager for eAchieve Academy. The staff member’s immediate responsibility will be to recruit students for the 2012-13 school year. Currently, this task is handled by K12, the district’s partner in providing the virtual education, however next year the district will take over control of the virtual school. Previously, the School Board approved a name change, a marketing plan and curriculum modifications for the district’s virtual school. School board approves changes and money for marketing the virtual school.

The Waukesha School Board's virtual school, iQ Academy, is getting a makeover for next school year. The School Board voted Wednesday night to approve a name change, a marketing plan and curriculum modifications, with all changes deemed necessary as the district takes over control of the virtual school from its current partner, KC Distance Learning. Starting next year, the new name of the virtual school will be Wisconsin Academy of Virtual Education (WAVE), causing one board member to humorously point out that the name follows in the long tradition of education to have a strong acronym. Waukesha School Board not Renewing iQ Academy Contract

School board votes to allow online school sole control, citing the success of the program so far.

Wednesday night, the Waukesha School Board approved giving notice that the school district will not renew its contract with KC Distance Learning, which currently provides logistically support for iQ Academy, the district’s online charter school. The move will allow the current contract to expire at the end of the school without being renewed.
