Grab & Go: Movies, Bowling and Theater

Waukesha Patch takes a look at a few ways to spend time with your kids this weekend.

1. Teen Friday Night Movie Where/When: Waukesha Public Library, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday Why Go: Send your children in grades 7 to 12 to the library to eat popcorn while watching the movie Serenity. Price: Free 2. Theater Fun 101 Where/When: Waukesha Public Library, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and March 19. Why Go: For kids ages 7 to 10 years, this is an interactive workshop put on by the library and Waukesha Civic Theater. Children can learn communication and listening skills while having fun. Waukesha Patch takes a look at places you can take your children this weekend.

1. Willy Wonka Where/When: Waukesha South High School, 7 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday Why Go: Remember that childhood tale of a golden ticket that could take you to see wonders of a chocolate river and an Oompa-Loompa? The high school spring musical will take you and your children back to that time. It also gives your children a chance to think about participating in their school plays. Price: $8 per ticket 2. Dog Show Where/When: Waukesha County Expo, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Grab & Go Kids Planner

Grab & Go Kids Planner: Uh Oh, No School? We Have a Few Ideas to Keep Children Entertained

Waukesha Patch finds five activities to do with your children this week.

1. Staycation Days at the Y  Where/When: Waukesha Famiy YMCA, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday Why Go: School is closed for the Waukesha School District. Instead of leaving your children at home with a babysitter, take them to the YMCA where they can be active instead of sitting on the couch eating potato chips. The YMCA requests registeration at least three days in advance. Pricing: $28 full day for members, $17 half day. Non-members $35/$22. 2. Open Wide! What is Inside? Where/When: Waukesha Public Library, 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Thursday. Our family will be attending the JK Lee Board-Break-a-thon at Mayfair Mall this Saturday to raise money for the MACC fund, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with demonstrations at noon and 2 p.m. It's a great event -- you get to watch some pretty cool stuff and raise money for a good cause.   more ›
