Update: Man, 75, Killed in Train Accident
Suicide occurred just before noon at South West and Progress avenues.

The Waukesha Police Department is investigating a fatal accident after a train collided with a pedestrian at South West and Progress avenues at 11:43 a.m. Friday. The victim, a 75-year-old man, committed suicide when he was hit by the train, according to Capt. Ron Oremus. The train blocked traffic near South West Avenue and Sunset Drive after the accident occurred. The last fatal train vs. pedestrian accident was on Easter 2011 when a man in a nearby group home committed suicide.
