Waukesha Week in Review: Jan 6-12

Golden Guernsey dairy closure, school changes and the arrest of the Associated Bank robbery suspect were top headlines last week.

As the week started, many people were stunned by the news that Golden Guernsey had shut down without any warning. Employees had no answers and were confused about what happened. The saga of Golden Guernsey’s closure will continue as state officials sort out the details of the company’s bankruptcy filing, employee complaints and the failure to give 60 days notice of a plant closure. Meanwhile, good news came from the Waukesha Police Department. The department announced the arrest of the Dec. 26 Associated Bank robbery suspect. James Rivera, 30, has been charged with the crime. On the school front, students will now have to take an online course through the Waukesha School District’s virtual school in order to graduate. The change begins …
