Waukesha woman passed away Sunday at age 90.
Vivian D. Staffeldt, a lifelong Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family at the age of 90 years. She was born in Waukesha on March 2, 1922 the daughter of Daniel and Sarah (nee Knutson) Dexter. She was a 1942 graduate of Waukesha High School. On March 14, 1943 she married Orman Staffeldt at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death in 2004. Vivian was a member of TOPS for many years and was a longtime and faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved her dogs. Waukesha man, 87, passed away Thursday.
Robert J. “Bob” Chase, of Waukesha, was reunited with his loving wife Alma “Jane” on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at his home at the age of 87 years. He was born in Pewaukee on Aug. 15, 1925, the son of Thomas and Agnes (nee Callaghan) Chase. Bob was a 1943 graduated of Waukesha High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946 and was a 50-year member of the American Legion DJ Martin Post #8. He was united in marriage to Alma “Jane” O’Donnell on July 31, 1950; she preceded him in death on June 5, 2009. Bob was a truck drive for Chase Oil Company for many years. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Holy Name Society. …

Waukesha man passes away after three-year battle with cancer.
David L. Idleman peacefully passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Feb. 20, 2013, after a courageous three-year battle with esophageal cancer. David was born on Sep. 1, 1952, in Van Nuys, California to James and Ellen (nee Jensen) Idleman and was the youngest of six children. He is a graduate of Simi Valley High School. In 1971, David moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin where he worked as a cook for Dutchland Dairy, BC Junior’s, Rick’s on Broadway and Jennifer’s, ironically, with the changing of names and hands, the building stayed the same. Former Waukesha mayor dies at age 91.
Joseph “Joe” Charles LaPorte, of Waukesha, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Lighthouse of Brookfield. Joe was born on Feb. 25, 1921, in Milwaukee, the son of Sicilian immigrants. His father, Filippo arrived in Milwaukee in 1904 and sent for his wife, Vincenza (Serni), a year later. The couple had nine children together, Joseph being the third youngest. Joe married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, the late Marion Gengl, on December 27, 1941. Joe started his career at International Harvestor as an Industrial Engineer. Joe enlisted and served in the 543rd Ordinance Heavy Maintenance Co. as a Technician 4th Class (Sergeant). As a Tech. Town of Waukesha woman dies at age 49.
Regine “Tutti” Luterbach of the Town of Waukesha, died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at her home at the age of 49. She was born on Aug. 4, 1963, in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and the late Geraldine (nee Zenner) Luterbach. She was a 1981 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. For 35 years she had been the secretary at Ace Redi-Mix, which was the Luterbach family business. Richard D. “Buck” Miller Sr Buck was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 19, 1934, the son of the late Casimir and Catherine Miller. He worked as an electrician for Marquette Electronics for many years. In the 60s, Buck served as a volunteer firefighter for the New Berlin Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Dorothy Julia Durant Dorothy was born in Antigo, WI, on Jan. 31, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Agnes Deresch. She married Eugene Francis Durant and they resided in Waukesha. Lucille “Lucy” Obodowsky, a longtime Waukesha resident died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 70. She was born in Franklin on Sept. 24, 1941, the daughter of Raymond and Celia (nee Guzenda) Bronikowski. On Aug. 21, 1960, she married Richard Obodowsky and became the love of his life. For over 33 years she worked alongside her husband as the owners of Jimmy’s Grotto. Lucy enjoyed traveling with her husband to their second home in Richford, WI and spending time with her daughters and grandsons. She was an avid bowler and had a great love for the outdoors and nature. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She will always be remembered as being a very positive, …
