According to a report from WISN 12 News, with the detective were two Menomonee Falls officers and one Waukesha police officer.
A Waukesha County Sheriff’s Detective was arrested in Sparta early Sunday morning for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Patch's partners at WISN 12 News reported that the detective, Bradley Anderson, was joined in the car by two Menomonee Falls officers and one Waukesha police officer. They were stopped at 2:30 a.m. A press release from the department indicated that Anderson — a 23-year veteran — was off-duty at the time of the arrest. While the department conducts an internal investigation, the detective has been placed on administrative duty. WISN reported that the Menomonee Falls department also is doing an internal investigation.

The funeral for Joshua Lang, of Hartland, will be held on Friday after he died from his injuries at Froedtert Hospital.
A 27-year-old Hartland man died from his injuries after hitting a Pewaukee police officer’s squad car with his motorcycle on Highway 16 at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Joshua Lang was transported to Froedtert Hospital via Flight For Life. He was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday with the funeral service starting at 5 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, according to his obituary. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is going through a rigorous accreditation process and assessors from Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group is examining the department’s policy and procedures, management, operation, and support service, Sheriff Daniel Trawicki announced Friday. “Verification by the team that the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department meets the Board’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence,” states a news release from Trawicki. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department reports a Burlington man appears to have accidentally shot himself in the hand with birdshot, also striking a woman at her North Prairie apartment.
When two people arrived at the Waukesha Memorial Hospital’s emergency room early Sunday morning to be treated for gunshot wounds, the hospital contacted the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department to investigation. A 24-year-old Burlington man had non-life threatening injuries and a 24-year-old North Prairie woman had superficial injuries after the man shot a revolver loaded with birdshot, according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. The Burlington man shot himself in the hand and the birdshot hit the woman’s upper chest and face. The shooting – which appears to be accidental – occurred at the woman’s North Prairie apartment. The shooting remains under investigation.

There were no injuries in the overnight fire, but the home was destroyed.
No injuries were reported in an overnight fire in the Town of Vernon that “substantially damaged” a home there. According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, crews responded to a home in the S7600 block of Mount Everest Road at 11:29 p.m. Wednesday. Four occupants of the house there noticed a fire in the attached garage, called 911 and evacuated. WISN 12 News reported that at least 11 departments responded, including Waukesha, New Berlin, Elm Grove and Mukwonago. The release stated that the house “became fully engulfed” and several vehicles and a boat were damaged along with the house. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

As an obese Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department detective, Bob Brenner could only imagine what victims of crimes thought when they stared at a 400-plus pound investigator handling their case. “Just watching me get out of the car is a treat,” Brenner said. “I was very conscious of that. I think there were times where I got that look, ‘This guy is investigating my case? Pewaukee man flees from Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and later says he will bless the lights so they turn green, according to a criminal complaint.
A 24-year-old Pewaukee man who was yelling about God while attempting to dance with firefighters at the Pewaukee Fire Department was instead taken to jail. Joshua J. Hamer – or Joshua J. Hamer Jesus as he told Waukesha County deputies – is charged with attempting to flee or elude a traffic officer. If convicted, he faces up to 1.5 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint filed Monday: Waukesha County deputies were dispatched Feb. 24 to the fire station on Pewaukee Road because a man was trying to dance with the firefighters. Thomas V. Sciano, 27, sexually assaulted children at parks, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.
A 27-year-old convicted sex offender will be living at S43W28760 Highway 59 in the Town of Genesee upon his release, according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Thomas V. Sciano, who will turn 28 next week, is convicted of sexually assaulting children at different parks. A 2003 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article reports he sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl at Hartland Elementary School after chasing away bullies who were throwing rocks at her. Sciano also has incidents of exposing himself and inappropriate touching, according to the news release. Some of his victims were not acquaintances. Gustavo Valdez, who was arrested in 2012 after barricading himself in a shed with a pitbull and a knife, was identified as the Town of Lisbon gas station robber by a school resource officer at Waukesha North High School, according to a criminal complaint.
A 43-year-old Waukesha man is accused of robbing a Town of Lisbon gas station with a sawed-off shotgun Feb. 23, 2012, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. Gustavo Valdez is charged with armed robbery. He faces up to 27 years in prison and $100,000 in fines if convicted. Valdez is scheduled to be in court Friday for an initial appearance. Valdez has past criminal convictions, including an incident last year that ended in him getting tasered four times in Waukesha after barricading himself in a shed with a pitbull and a knife.
