A 5K mud run at the Waukesha County Expo Center will give runners a chance to survive a zombie attack – or they will be infected by the finish line.
The zombie apocalypse is coming soon, and if you aren’t careful, you just might get infected. The Wisconsin Zombie Mud Run is set for May 18 at the Waukesha County Expo Center where runners will try to survive the zombie attacks. Flags or “lifelines” will be given to runners at the start of the obstacle course. But along the way, zombies will try to infect the runners by stealing their lifelines. At the end of the run, participants will either be infected or they will be zombie survivors. “Some of our zombies will be quick and nimble,” said Ann Marie Gavinski, co-founder of the Wisconsin Zombie Mud Run. “Some of ours will be a little slow and dull-witted.” The cost of the mud run is $75 per person if registered by May 12, however, people …

Shrieking ladies of all ladies got a little dirty as they crawled through the mud, dashed over hay bales and climbed ropes during the Dirty Girl Mud Run this weekend at the Waukesha County Expo. After the 5K, American Idol finalist Danny Gokey, a newlywed whose wife is expecting their first child, sang for the crowd Saturday night. The muddy fun begins again Sunday. Fireworks canceled despite best efforts to keep Independence Day tradition.
The Waukesha Fourth of July fireworks show came to an early ending after small grass fires began sprouting up due to severe dry conditions. Although the Waukesha Fire Department used the Waukesha County Expo grounds where the fireworks were held for pump training this week, the ground still wasn’t wet enough to prevent fire. Some fires sprouted up across the street on the north end of the expo center near Crites Field.
