Man Faces 9 Felonies After Owing Child Support

Chandler Spell, 42, of Normal, IL, faces up to 13-1/2 years in prison if convicted.

 A Normal, IL, is accused of owing more than $62,000 in back child support and interest after failing to make $187 a month payments off and on between 2007 and 2013, according to a criminal complaint. Chandler Spell, 42, was charged Tuesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with nine counts of failure to support. If convicted, he faces up to 13-1/2 years in prison and $90,000 in fines. According to the complaint: Spell was ordered in December 1995 to pay $187 a month to support his infant child. The child’s mother reported Feb. 7 she had not received payments during the following times: A warrant has been issued for Spell’s arrest.

Waukesha Man Faces 4th Drunken Driving Offense

Ryan R. Carow, 32, tells Waukesha County deputy he had "more than I should have" before driving home, according to a complaint.

A 32-year-old Waukesha man who was caught speeding on Redford Boulevard in City of Pewaukee is now charged with his fourth drunken driving offense. Ryan R. Carow was charged Monday with operating while intoxicated-fourth offense. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Carow was pulled over at 2:03 a.m. Monday after driving 61 mph in a 45 mph speed limit and crossing the center line several times, although he didn’t immediately stop for the Waukesha County deputy, according to the complaint. Carow smelled like intoxicants and spoke with a thick, slurred speech, the complaint states. $200K Bail Set For Man After 2nd Sex Assault Victim Comes Forward

A woman testifying at trial against Wayne D. Herbes, formerly of Waukesha, told police he had also assaulted her, according to court records. A mistrial was declared and Herbes' bail was increased.

A Brookfield man who was being tried for sexual assault of a child now has a $200,000 bail after another possible victim surfaced. Wayne A. Herbes, 57, who previously lived in Waukesha and Hartland, was on trial in March on three charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13. A mistrial was declared after a woman testified about being sexually abused by Herbes decades earlier, according to court records. After the mistrial was declared, Waukesha County Judge Patrick Haughney modified Herbes’ bail from $2,500 to $200,000. Herbes remains in the Waukesha County Jail as his attorney is seeking a lower bail. He will return to court at 10:30 a.m. April 12. No new charges have been filed. A Waukesha man faces up to 150 years in prison — if convicted — after Waukesha police say they found 804 images on his computer that were identified as child pornography, according to a criminal complaint. William C. Dowling, 35, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography on Monday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. He remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail. Waukesha police officers served a search warrant on Dowling’s residence on Thursday after an undercover investigation revealed Dowling was sharing child pornography from the home, according to the criminal complaint. Man Pleads Guilty in Hit-and-Run Accident That Killed Service Dog

A man who killed a service dog during a hit-and-run car accident, injuring the dog’s owner, will be sentenced March 22. Carlos M. Ward, 30, of Milwaukee, pleaded guilty to hit-and-run causing injury Wednesday. At 9:45 p.m. June 8, Debbie Schultz and her dog, Lexi, were crossing North Barstow Street near West Broadway when they were hit by a cream-colored Jeep Cherokee while the vehicle was turning from Broadway onto Barstow. The Jeep continued driving without stopped and eventually turned eastbound onto East Main Street. On June 14, Waukesha police officers were at an unrelated call in the 400 block of East Main when one of the officers noticed the Jeep and realized it matched the description of the vehicle involved in the hit and run. A Waukesha woman speeding to ask a judge to place her in jail after relapsing in her heroin addiction found herself in more trouble, according to a criminal complaint. Lisa M. Teuteberg, 25, was charged Wednesday with possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she faces up to one year and seven months in prison and $10,500 in fines. According to the complaint: A New Berlin police officer pulled Teuteberg over for traveling 57 mph in a 35 mph speed zone at West Cleveland Avenue and Sunnyslope Road. Former Waukesha Sex Offender Indicted on Child Pornography Production Charges

Jermaine L. Johnson, 36, faces three federal counts alleging he produced and possessed child pornography.

A 36-year-old former Waukesha man was indicted by a grand jury for three counts involving child pornography, including for accusations that he produced pornography. Jermaine L. Johnson is indicted on two counts of production of child pornography from incidents involving two minor girls engaging in sexual acts in July 2009 and August 2011, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney James L. Santelle. Johnson also is indicted with allegations of possessing child pornography in March 2012. Johnson remains incarcerated, according to the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. He was sentenced to six years of probation with one year of jail time for a second-degree sexual assault of a child conviction in Waukesha…

Florida Man Owes Ex-Wife $166K in Child Support, Complaint Says

Debary, Florida, man is charged with nine felonies alleging he failed to pay child support.

A 49-year-old Debary, FL, man failed to pay his ex-wife nearly $166,000 in child support from 2007 to 2012, according to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court. Timothy J. Ward is charged with nine counts of failing to pay child support. If convicted, he faces up to 13.5 years in prison. According to the complaint: Ward was ordered in 2002 to pay more than $2,000 a month in child support and for day care. However, his ex-wife reported that he hadn’t been paying the child support. Authorities documented that Ward had not paid the support during specific time periods between 2007 and 2012, owing $165,970.21.

Ex-NFL Player, Actor Charged With Violating Domestic Abuse Order

Bronzell Miller, former player for the St. Louis Rams, is charged with 15 misdemeanor counts in two counties, but is trying to charge his ex-wife with adultery.

A former NFL player and actor is charged with 12 misdemeanor counts of violating a domestic abuse injunction after prosecutors say he sent numerous emails to his ex-wife in violation of a court order. Bronzell La James Miller, 41, of West Allis, appeared in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday on the misdemeanor charges. He faces up to nine years in jail and $12,000 in fines if convicted of 12 misdemeanors. Miller was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in 1995 and was moved to Jacksonville that season. He has appeared in films such as Mr. 3000 and Bringing Down the House, and TV series Touched by an Angel and Promise Land, according to IMBD.com. Schmidt’s family begged Waukesha County Circuit Judge Donald Hassin Jr. on Monday to show Schmidt leniency as Hassin sentenced him to prison.
