Waukesha ushered in the holidays with charm, lights, music, dancing and Santa Claus during the 2012 Christmas parade. Christmas Past: Downtown Parade Celebrates 50 Years of Yuletide Tradition

The 50th annual Christmas parade is Nov. 18 in downtown Waukesha.

The 50th annual Waukesha Christmas Parade will make its way through historic downtown Waukesha with marching bands, floats and a special appearance from Santa at 4 p.m. Nov. 18. Kids, bring your letters to Santa and give them to the mail carriers at the start of the Parade or to Santa's Elves at the end. Be sure to include your name and address to receive a return note from Santa.

Boy, 5, Named Christmas Parade's Grand Marshal

Ryan Heiman, of Sussex, will lead the Waukesha Christmas Parade.

BloodCenter of Wisconsin has named 5-year-old Ryan Heiman of Sussex as the grand marshal for the 2012 Waukesha Christmas Parade.  BloodCenter of Wisconsin is the title sponsor of the 50th annual parade, to be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, in downtown Waukesha. Shortly after Ryan’s birth, doctors realized that he needed special care. They quickly determined that Ryan needed a blood transfusion. Ryan is now a happy and healthy child, who celebrated his fifth birthday in October – all because generous donors made sure blood was available when he needed it. “Words truly cannot express how deeply grateful we are that someone had donated the blood that saved our son’s life,” said Jason Heiman, Ryan’s dad.  “Ryan is thrilled to be part of the …

Toy Collection Taking Place During Waukesha Christmas Parade

Editor’s note: This information was provided to Patch via a news release from the Christmas Clearing Council. Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County (CCC) announced its plans to participate in the annual Waukesha Christmas parade activities in downtown Waukesha on Sunday. The organization will hold a major toy drive on the day of the event, which is sponsored by the Waukesha Business Improvement District. In addition, high school students from the S.A.D.D. (Students against Destructive Decisions) clubs of Waukesha North and Waukesha West High Schools will march in the parade on behalf of CCC for the third consecutive year.
