Golden Guernsey Creditors Support Sale If They Can Recover Claims

The two creditors are supporting the proposed $5.5 million sale of Golden Guernsey Dairy if it means they recover their claims from the proceeds of the sale.

Two creditors say they support the sale of bankrupt Golden Guernsey Dairy LLC if they can get back what they are owed, reported the Business Journal. Superior Dairy in Canton, OH, has made a $5.5 million offer to purchase Golden Guernsey in Waukesha. The offer for purchase could make way for Golden Guernsey to re-open after a California investment firm owning the Wisconsin dairy filed bankruptcy in early January.  Accord Financial was owed about $7.9 million and Foremost Farms USA was owed about $1.8 million at the time of the bankruptcy petition, according to the Business Journal article.  Golden Guernsey started in 1930 as a farmer-owned cooperative in Milwaukee, and by 1935, delivered milk to the homes of 20,000 customers in Wisconsin, …

Waukesha Farmers' Market Expands in a Big Way for 2012 Season

With nearly double the vendors from 2011, the Waukesha Farmers' Market kicks off on Saturday near the Fox River.

The Waukesha Farmers’ Market is reaching new levels this year as it’s nearly doubled from approximately 60 vendors in 2011 to 103 vendors in 2012. “We could have actually accommodated about 140 vendors if we had the space,” said Business Improvement District Executive Director Meghan Sprager. “We had that much interest.” The Waukesha Farmers’ Market kicks off this weekend in downtown Waukesha on Saturday. The 103 vendors will be located along the Fox River walk between North Barstow Street and West Broadway. It will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through the end of October. I come because that's where the Waukesha community shops. I have great market vendor neighbors and family and friends meet me there. Ocassionally I even have dogs that want to stop by my booth.
