Alderman Roger Patton tried to send the issue back to the Waukesha Plan Commission for reconsideration, but the rest of the Common Council decided to deny the request.
The Waukesha Common Council denied a 4-acre annexation request from the MRED-Cummings Development Corporation and eight Town of Waukesha residents, effectively killing plans for a new Walgreens and Aldi at Sunset Drive and West St. Paul Avenue. Alderman Roger Patton cast the only vote against the denial. Patton had unsuccessfully attempted to send the issue back to the Plan Commission. The developers were seeking annexation into the city after the Town of Waukesha denied the proposal. City officials also recommended against the proposal, citing concerns about damaging a stable residential neighborhood, the number of grocery stores and pharmacies nearby, available commercial property in close proximity to the site and declining property …

Proposal still has to go before the Waukesha Common Council but city staff has concerns about disrupting a stable residential neighborhood.
After city staff and neighbors opposed a request to annex five residential properties into the City of Waukesha to make way for Walgreens and Aldi at southwest corner of Sunset Drive and Genesee Road, the proposal was shot down by the commission Wednesday night. The annexation proposal, which would move five properties from the Town of Waukesha to the City of Waukesha, still needs to go before the Common Council. City staff is recommending against the annexation. Walgreens, and more recently Aldi, has been in a battle for years in its efforts to raze the residential units and develop the site. After receiving denials from the Town of Waukesha, the developers are attempting to annex the property because they prefer the location. Mayor Jeff …

Sara Conrad from SarandipitySaves.com shows you that being cheap can be oh-so chic with fortuitous frugal discoveries.
There's some spiffy savings happening in the drugstore world this week so I thought I'd kill two....errr....budget birds with one column. ;) Let's start over at Walgreens.... Walgreens makes saving is pretty easy with their Register Rewards program. Each week there are oodles of deals which produce Register Rewards, or RR for short. They will print with your receipt at the checkout and can be used on future purchases like cash. There are a couple caveats though. You can not use an RR to purchase an item from the same brand as what the RR originally developed from. When you use the RR just make sure you do not use it to buy other items from said company. Also, if you're using manufacturer 'pons make sure you do not have more items in your…
