As we look forward to celebrating Veterans Day and 2012 as the Year of the Veteran we will continue to focus on honoring our Veterans by doing all we can to help them secure good health, security, and happiness when they come home.

So far this year, we’ve held 16 job fairs for veterans, connecting hundreds of employers with veterans looking for work. The Waukesha Allied Veterans will hold a ceremony to honor all veterans of all services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday for Veterans Day.
Local businesses salute our service men and women with special deals year-round, as well as on Veterans Day.
A number of local businesses are saluting veterans, military service men and women, and their families this Veterans Day by offering local discounts, specials and promotions. Here's a guide to specials in Waukesha and the area. Two important notes: Free food: Store discounts:
Waukesha elementary school students raised money for their school and for the food pantry.
The students at Meadowbrook Elementary School worked hard to raise nearly $3,400 for the school as a part of their walk-at-thon that also honored veterans. The Marine Color Guard from the Fox Company of Milwaukee led the walk after presenting the American flag for the National Anthem. Additionally, the school donated $375 to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.
