UW-Waukesha Seeking Approval for New Bachelor's Degree Program

If approved by University of Wisconsin System's Board of Regents in June, the two-year college would enter into an agreement with UW-Parkside.

In an effort to further expand its mission from a two-year school, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha intends to offer a new bachelor of applied arts and sciences degree.            The proposal goes before the University of Wisconsin System’s Board of Regents in June. If passed, school will establish a partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to start the program in the 2012 fall semester. The degree is aimed at adults who might find it difficult to commute to a four-year school. “This will be an opportunity for us to serve students who might not otherwise be able to continue their education,” UW-Waukesha Interim Dean Jane Crisler said. UW-Waukesha Art Gallery Showcases Student Work

University students display their best work in a gallery on campus.

For University of Wisconsin-Waukesha art student Ashley Kerr, seeing her creations on display is affirmation of hard work. “It’s really neat to have your piece shown and everyone to see it,” she said. “It’s really nice to take a look at all your artwork from the entire year and see what you would choose to put in the exhibit.” Kerr’s art is among work on display at the school in a student exhibit that opened April 25 and runs through May 20. Roughly 60 students are involved. Students pick their best work from the year, and the exhibit is open to all students who have had an art class at UW-Waukesha during the fall and spring semesters.
