A 31-year-old Waukesha man is charged with his sixth drunken driving offense after being stopped by a Town of Brookfield police officer in a bar parking lot at 12:47 a.m. Friday. Marques A. Bernier faces up to three years initial confinement in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted of the felony charge. A Town of Brookfield police officer pulled Bernier over after seeing the vehicle traveling between 48 and 50 mph on Bluemound Road near Brookfield Road. The license plate was faded and the officer couldn’t read the letters or the numbering. A Waukesha County police officer who died on duty Saturday of an apparent heart attack is being remembered as someone dedicated to public service who had a true passion for helping others. Donald Bishop, 32, died Saturday morning while responding to a burglary call in the Town of Brookfield, where he was an officer. Although the official cause of death has not been released, officials believe Bishop had a heart attack. Before joining the department, Bishop worked in various public safety positions throughout Waukesha County. A 32-year-old Town of Brookfield police officer and former dispatcher with the Waukesha County Communications Center died Saturday morning of an apparent heart while responding to a burglary call. Officer Donald Bishop joined the Town of Brookfield Police Department in August 2011, according to Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News. Waukesha woman was being medically cleared following her arrest in the Town of Brookfield.
A Waukesha woman, who was being medically cleared at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, overdosed on heroin while she was supposed to be providing a urine sample, according to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court. Niki J. Reichel, 27, was charged with disorderly conduct-domestic abuse on Monday. She faces up to 90 days in jail and $1,000 in fines. A 68-year-old Waukesha man is facing his fourth operating while intoxicated charge after he allegedly drove down Bluemound Road with his hazard lights on after leaving the Wisconsin State Fair. Keith A. Haberkorn was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of fourth offense OWI. If convicted, he faces up to one year in Waukesha County Jail and $2,000 in fines.
