'Hello' From 98th District Assembly Candidates [Video]

Take a look at these quick introductions from each of the five candidates vying for a seat in the 98th assembly district.

Five candidates running in a special election in the 98th Assembly District met head-to-head Monday night for at a candidates forum sponsored by Patch at Carroll University.  This video offers a brief introduction from each of the candidates, including Ed Baumann, Todd Greenwald, Matt Morzy, Adam Neylon and Jeanne Tarantino (Click on link for biographical information on each candidate). The five are running to replace Paul Farrow, who was elected to the 33rd Senate District in December. Election Preview: 98th State Assembly District Republican Primary

Five GOP candidates are vying for the chance to represent the 98th Assembly District in the state Legislature.

Five Republican candidates are running for the vacant seat in the 98th Assembly District in a special primary election on Feb. 19. The winner will advance to the general election on April 2, however, since there is no Democratic candidate, that person is all but certain to win the seat. The district includes Pewaukee, Sussex and portions of Waukesha. The candidates are Ed Baumann, Todd Greenwald, Matt Morzy, Adam Neylon and Jeanne Tarantino (Click on link for biographical information on each candidate). The five are running to replace Paul Farrow, who was elected to the 33rd Senate District in December. She is not out of compliance for her personal taxes for 2012. That does not mean, however, that she complied with the law concerning payroll taxes. Pewaukee Police Chief Baumann Declares Candidacy For 98th Assembly Seat

Republicans Adam Neylon, Jeanne Tarantino, Todd Greenwald, Matt Morzy and Democrat Eric Prudent are also running for the seat.

Village of Pewaukee Chief of Police Edward Baumann declared his candidacy on Thursday for the 98th Assembly district, joining a handful of candidates vying for the seat.  “I am looking forward to continuing my life-long passion of service to others. I am not a politician, but a problem solver and coalition builder," he said in a statement. "I pledge to be ‘For the People – First and Forever.’” Current 98th Assembly Rep. Paul Farrow won the 33rd Senate District seat during a Dec. 4 special election. A primary for the 98th Assembly seat will be held Feb. 19. 98th Assembly Primary Is Feb. 19

Special election for 98th assembly district, which includes portions of Waukesha, Sussex and Pewaukee, will be held April 2.

Gov. Scott Walker has called for the special election in the 98th Assembly District, a seat that is vacant because State Rep. Paul Farrow was elected to the 33rd Senate District on Dec. 4. The election will be held April 2. If a primary election is necessary, it will be held Feb. 19. A news release from Gov. Scott Walker does not state when candidates can begin circulating nomination papers. The Government Accountability Board website had no information about nomination papers as of 4:35 p.m. Monday. “The dates are chosen according to statute and will coincide with guidelines for general spring elections and will therefore also reduce the cost to taxpayers,” said Governor Walker. Updated: Candidates Emerge in 98th Assembly District Race

A half dozen people are showing interest in the special election that still has to be called by Gov. Scott Walker.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday with information about Jeanne Tarantino declaring her candidacy. State Rep. Paul Farrow has not yet officially won the 33rd Senate District seat, although he is the only candidate on the Dec. 4 special election ballot, but nearly a half dozen people have expressed an interest in replacing him. Jeanne Tarantino, a Waukesha Republican, became the latest candidate for the job, throwing her hat into the ring early this week while Steve Edlund, who was once considering a run, has announced he will not seek the office.
