This Thanskgiving, What Are You Thankful For?

Waukesha Patch gives you a chance to publicly declare your thanks and appreciation this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving — a holiday centered around thankfulness — is Thursday. The annual family feast day is a great time to pause and reflect on what you're most thankful for this year. The holiday also traditionally kicks off the frenzied Christmas shopping season, which means the remainder of the year is often but a blur. To be honest, this year has been difficult. As a camp counselor for years, I've lost two of my young adult staff members who I saw grow up in our program. Tragic car accidents took their lives — one in April and one just 10 days ago. After the most recent accident, I was praying with a close friend who just had this request: "Please, don't take anyone else." This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for those around me. I am grateful I …

Gov. Scott Walker's Thanksgiving Message

In his weekly radio address, governor thanks Wisconsin's volunteers, especially those who helped out victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Here is a transcript of Gov. Scott Walker's weekly radio address, which aired on Wednesday. Hi, this is Scott Walker. This year, Tonette and I are glad to have our oldest son, Matt, home to join with our other son, Alex, and our parents as we enjoy the blessings of our family on Thanksgiving Day. We are so very thankful for our family and friends. It is also a time to again say thank you to the many people in our state who volunteer to help others in our schools, at senior and community centers, in places of worship and so many other locations across Wisconsin. Carroll 'Stuffs the Truck' to Help Food Pantry of Waukesha County

More than 3,400 contributions were rounded up to Stuff the Truck, more than 900 items in excess of this year's goal.

No Bus Service for Thanksgiving Day

Bus service continues to operate a normal schedule on Friday.

Waukesha Metro Transit will not operate any service on Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving Day).  Below is the complete Thanksgiving Weekend schedule: Thursday, November 22 (Thanksgiving)- The following services will not operate: Friday, November 23 – All services will resume as scheduled.  The Downtown Transit Center Customer Service Window will be open. Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25- All service will operate as scheduled.
