The Sunland Inc. plant that distributes products to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Kilwins, Target and others is linked to Salmonella contamination that made at least 41 people ill in 20 states.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Monday that it has blocked food distribution from the Sunland Inc. peanut butter plant in New Mexico whose products were subject to a wide recall in recent months because of salmonella contamination. The various types of Sunland peanut butter products—sold under several brands by major food retailers, including Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Kilwins Quality Confections, and Target—had been part of a voluntary recall that began in September and later was expanded to include other nut butters as well as processed nuts and peanuts. A Waukesha woman's post about her experience with a Target checker went viral on Facebook. But some were questioning if it was a true story.
Posts on Facebook go viral everyday. Whether it is a funny caption, weird videos and uplifting videos, they attract attention – good and bad. So I wasn’t too surprised when I saw people commenting on a Facebook post about a Target employee. Some people were saying it was a fake story. Others said they saw a similar post on a Walmart Facebook page. But when I was Black Friday shopping at Target for movie deals, I had a similar encounter with a man named Mike Noonan. A West Allis mother and daughter are accused of trying to steal $2,100 in merchandise from Target in Waukesha. Police say one woman admitted to similar thefts in Oak Creek, Greenfield and West Milwaukee, according to a criminal complaint.

A West Allis mother may want look for different activities to do with her daughter after Waukesha police say they tried to steal more than $2,000 in merchandise from Target. Linda K. Hartleben, 56, and Larayne F. Hartleben, 20, were charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of felony retail theft. If convicted, they each face up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. A 35-year-old Waukesha man is facing charges alleging he stole a bike from an area store, then returned it later the same day after he was upset with its performance. Addison S. Graikowski was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On June 27, Graikowski walked into Target not wearing a shirt and was immediately asked by a security officer to put one a shirt in order to shop at the store. Graikowski complied, however, 17 minutes later, the officer was contacted by another employee, who said Graikowski had just stolen a bottle of cold medicine. Dozens of Waukesha schools are in a Facebook competition to receive up to $10,000 in gift cards from Target.
Do you want to help your child’s school win money from Target? Dozens of area schools are in a competition to receive Target gift cards. “Together we're giving K-12 schools up to $10,000 each in Target GiftCards® for books or any supplies they need,” states the Target Facebook page. “You can help by voting for a school each week. Rally your friends because for every 25 votes a school receives, Target will send a $25 gift card.” Waukesha has two Targets: There’s about a month left to vote for area schools in Waukesha. Classes for the 2012-13 school year resume Sept. 4 for the Waukesha School District.

Waukesha woman is arrested for stealing from a West Allis store, but tells police she doesn't recall the incident because she had been drinking heavily that day, according to a criminal complaint.
A 27-year-old Waukesha woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole nearly $1,100 worth of DVDs from a West Allis department store, but was so drunk at the time she didn’t remember taking the items, according to a criminal complaint. Natalie Marie Zieroth was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Saturday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, she could face up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 21, Zieroth walked into Target, 2600 S. 108th St., West Allis, then loaded up a shopping cart with $1,085 worth of DVDs and left without paying for the movies.
