8-Twelve's Azana Spa Benefit Raises Money for Victims' Children

A charity auction was held at 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield to benefit the children of the women killed in the Azana Salon & Spa shooting.

Updated Tuesday: Today's TMJ4 says between tickets and the silent auction, 8-twelve's fundraiser raised more than $60,000 for the families of the who died in the Azana spa shooting. ______________________ A packed house at 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield Monday night raised $20,000 just in tickets — plus more from rare finds in a silent auction, such as Aaron Rodgers game-worn playoff cleats. And it was all primarily for eight people, namely the children of three mothers slain in the Oct. 21 tragedy at Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield. Photos of the three women who worked at the spa reminded the 200 who paid $100 a piece to get in just why they were supporting the cause. Candles flickered near the photos and remembrances of Zina …

I attended this event Monday and was impressed by the number of people and the sincere interest in the affected families welfare that everyone shared. According to a Surg group email I just received: "The community and many of its friends came together Monday night, at Brookfield's 8-Twelve Restaurant, raising nearly $62,000 for the youngest victims of the Azana Spa tragedy. "Eight children were …   more ›

PHOTOS: Rodgers, Braun Join 8-twelve's Grand Opening Party

Were you at 8-twelve's party Sunday night with Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Braun? Add your photos to Patch's gallery here.

The new Aaron Rodgers-Ryan Braun restaurant, 8-twelve MVP Bar & Grill, held a private big bash Sunday night to celebrate its grand opening in the Town of Brookfield. Among those in the packed crowd: the two MVPs, Surg Restaurant Group owner Omar Shaik, Gov. Scott Walker and his wife and sons, Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto and Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas. The Business Journal was there and snapped these shots. Ponto, who attended with his wife Mary, said the party was packed and the restaurant was a great experience. So what does he recommend? The calamari and prime rib, paired with red wine, were "excellent," he said. Were you there Sunday evening? Share your photos! And if you've been to 8-twelve since it opened July 5 at 17800 W…

Braun, Rodgers Take it to the Kitchen

Popular athletes will open a restaurant called 8*twelve in June in the former Charro building on Bluemound Road. The MVPs plan to stop in for announced and spontaneous visits.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun are taking on a new venture and this time it is not on the field. It’s in the kitchen. The new restaurant will be located at 17800 W. Bluemound Rd., in the former Charro pan-Latin restaurant. Opening is planned for June. Ryan Braun Hits a Home Run in the Public Relations Game

Brewers star did just about everything right in Friday's press conference.

Did you hear it? It was almost audible, the sound of Milwaukee Brewers baseball fans breathing a collective sigh of relief this week as Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun won the first-ever appeal of a Major League Baseball drug test.  But there was also another sound, the sound of implied guilt. As Mr. Braun said in his press conference on Friday, the scrutiny he endured is just the opposite of what is found in the American legal system: Guilty until proven innocent. Point taken, Mr. Braun. Let’s take this opportunity to look at what you’ve done right in this unfortunate situation, and what you and your PR team should be thinking about going forward. Ultimately, what happened at the press conference and in the future days are what will …
