Waukesha Man Accused of Trying to Steal Copper
Police say the suspect fled a duplex after a business employee spotted him and a friend trying to steal copper, according to a criminal complaint.
A 33-year-old Waukesha man is accused of breaking into a Milwaukee home with his friend so they could steal copper so they could buy heroin, according to a criminal complaint. Joseph D. Poehlman was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Friday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 7 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 12:14 p.m. Monday, an employee at Next Step Residential Services, 3193 S. 77th St., came into work and discovered the side door of the building was open. The company is located within a duplex and the employee could hear someone sawing in the basement.
