5th paragraph should read "Ingram", not Rana I believe. The Elm Grove police had good instincts when they stopped Ingram, turns out he appears to be responsible for the shooting. This is a stretch by the defense, just looking for a loop-hole to get this guy off on a technicality. I would hope this attempt goes nowhere!   more ›

With all due respect I would doubt that the national press would consider this story good reading. Sad and tragic yes, but pretty un-extraordinary as far as murders go. There is lots of evidence and the motive is primitive, clear and uncomplicated (robbery). After reading the story there doesn't really seem to be much to question or talk about-- even for me who comments on pretty much everything.   more ›

Remembering Nayyer Rana

Gas station clerk who died from gunshot wounds Tuesday morning is remembered by customers for being a nice man who would greet them with a smile.

Hours have passed since gas station clerk Nayyer Rana was shot and killed by an unknown suspect, but it’s clear from the many comments on Patch.com and on our Facebook page that he made an impression on the customers who purchased gas, soda, coffee and candy from him. Rana, 56, never made it out of the gas station today. Police are seeking more information about the homicide and are asking anyone who has details to contact Detective Neumann at 262-524-3818.
