Nick Wilcox Drowned With a .22% BAC

Kettle Moraine High School graduate's family questions the ruling of an accidental drowning.

When Nick Wilcox, 24, a Kettle Moraine High School graduate, accidentally drowned in the Milwaukee River early Jan. 1, his blood alcohol concentration was .22 percent, according to Patch’s media partners WISN 12 News. The toxicology test was negative for other drugs, according to WISN. Wilcox’s funeral is planned for Saturday with a burial on Sunday. Family and friends searched for months for Wilcox after he went missing. Wilcox was last seen between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Jan. 1 outside the Irish Rec Room on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee.  Wilcox’s body was found last week in the Milwaukee River after months of searching. Nicholas A. “Nick” Wilcox of Milwaukee, after a long search, finally found peace on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the age of 24 years. Nick was a wonderful young man. He was a loving son; quick to say “I love you” and bend down to give you a hug while trying to pick you up. He was a caring, fun-loving jokester of a brother. Nick was the youngest in the family, but was always protective of his older sisters. Being a devoted grandson, he was always there to lend a helping hand. Nick was admired by his nieces and nephews; they knew they could always have some fun with him, and he was a loving boyfriend to Kelly McGonagil. Body of Missing Kettle Moraine Graduate Nick Wilcox Pulled from Milwaukee River

Nick Wilcox, 24, went missing on Jan. 1 after leaving a bar on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee.

For months, missing posters have been posted throughout the area, including Waukesha, after Kettle Moraine High School graduate Nick Wilcox went missing early New Year’s Day in downtown Milwaukee. The search is over, but with a tragic outcome. Wilcox’s body was pulled from the Milwaukee River on Thursday, according to Waukesha Patch’s media partners WISN 12 News. Nick Wilcox was last seen between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Jan. 1 outside the Irish Rec Room on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee.  Wilcox’s girlfriend told Fox 6 Wilcox was seen by a bouncer leaving the bar with a man in a red shirt. Family and friends have been searching along the nearby river for Wilcox.

I remember the guy who went to New Orleans on a business trip, last year. He left his colleagues, very iniebriated, walked out of the bar and headed straight down the block to the Mississippi river and went in! They had it all on security cameras from surrounding businesses.   more ›

Family Searching for Missing Man in Milwaukee

Nick Wilcox, 24, disappeared early New Year's Day in downtown MIlwaukee while out with his girlfriend.

Family and friends are searching for a 24-year-old man who disappeared while out with his girlfriend ringing in the New Year in downtown Milwaukee. Nick Wilcox was last seen between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday outside the Irish Rec Room on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee. Wilcox is 6-feet 2-inches tall and about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark grey shirt, dark jeans and black shoes. If anyone has information about his whereabouts, they are asked to call the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7403. Wilcox’s girlfriend told Fox 6 Wilcox was seen by a bouncer leaving the bar with a man in a red shirt. Family and friends have been searching along the nearby river for Wilcox.
