United Wisconsin says Monday's attack was "coordinated and deliberate."
Updated at 8:35 p.m. Monday to indicate that site is back online. Just hours before the official start of the drive to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker from office, the group spearheading the effort said that its website was the victim of a cyberattack on Monday. United Wisconsin, the group working with the Wisconsin Democratic Party in the effort to recall Walker, said Monday evening that its website went down at about 2 p.m. The site was back online about six hours later. "Early this afternoon, United Wisconsin's website www.unitedwisconsin.com, was the victim of a cyber attack. Our web team reports that this attack was coordinated and deliberate its target," the organization said in a statement. The FBI and the Wisconsin attorney …
A massive recall effort will start Nov. 15 with the hope of forcing Gov. Scott Walker out of office. Patch used Storify to compile tweets, videos and links to tell the story of how the state reached this point.
Petitions are available starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
Efforts to recall Gov. Scott Walker seem to have started back in February, when his budget-repair bill was first introduced. At the time, however, those efforts were mostly organizational in nature. In the nine months since, Walker, recalls and the state's polarizing political atmosphere have been a hot-button topic in Wisconsin, and now, official action is being taken. Recall Walker activists will be attempting to collect 540,000 signatures between now and Jan. 17, starting late this evening as petitions to recall the governor can be signed and circulated starting at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. For more on the recall effort, check out this Patch story, which has accumulated more than 300 Patch user comments and nearly 900 poll votes.

A statewide effort to recall Gov. Scott Walker gets under way Tuesday, and at least one organization plans to start the effort off with a bang: By holding a recall rally in front of the governor's Wauwatosa home. Planning for the rally has been under the radar. No press releases have been sent to the media and there isn't much information about it online. But organizers said Thursday that the rally is a go, with local, regional and national groups behind it. We Are Milwaukee, an "alliance of community-based organizations, unions, faith communities and local leaders," is planning to meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Juneau High School, 6415 W. Mount Vernon Ave. in Milwaukee, and march four blocks north to Walker's residence at 520 N. 68th St. There…

More than 45,000 people have signed a petition calling for the Canadian rock band to be replaced from the nationally televised halftime show.
Nickelback? Step back! Detroit Lions fans are rallying against the Canadian rockers after they were announced as the halftime band for the Thanksgiving game versus our own Green Bay Packers. Dennis Guttman, a student at the University of Michigan, has started a petition to ask the Lions to drop Nickelback from the rock band’s scheduled appearance at the Nov. 24 game. The petition rails against the group, asking "Does anyone even like Nickelback?" One commenter, Eva Blankinship, said she would "rather drink bleach than listen to Nickelback and have them associated with Detroit." As of Tuesday, Nov. 8, more than 45,000 people have signed Guttman’s online petition, and the pushback against Nickelback has drawn attention from national media …

Recall organizers will start Nov. 15 to try and gather 540,000 signatures from registered voters within 60 days.
We all know groups of angry voters, mostly Democrats, will attempt to recall Gov. Scott Walker starting Nov. 15. What we don't know: Will they succeed? Sheer numbers suggest a massive challenge. Recall proponents need to gather 540,000 signatures within 60 days to force Walker into a recall election roughly halfway through his four-year term as governor. That's 9,000 signatures from registered voters statewide per day, 375 per hour, or about 6 per minute. The recall petitions need to be turned into the state's Government Accountability Board by Jan. 17. Aside from the logistical difficulties of gathering half a million signatures - including another 540,000 to recall Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch - recall supporters may simply run out of …
