Cake Pops by Design Offers Specialized Treats

Laura Sholts started making specialized cakes a year ago.

It was nearly a year ago that Waukesha businesss owner Laura Sholts made her first cake pops. She brought the small balls of cake rolled with frosting that are dipped in a sugary coating before being decorated with sprinkles and designs to a party. They were a hit, and people started asking if she would make and sell them. “I didn’t really think twice about it, and I said ‘No,’” Sholts said. But then she made them again for another party. Once again, the cake pops were a hit. “I just thought maybe I will give it a try,” she said. “… Let’s just go for it, there is nothing to lose.
