On-Ramps Closing on I-94 in the Next Few Months

Work for for an additional auxiliary lane of traffic will run from March through May.

Whether you work, commute or live in Milwaukee, drivers should be aware of I-94 roadwork and lane restrictions that will begin in March and go through May.  Work will begin on March 4 and continue until mid-May for the addition of an auxiliary lane of traffic between 25th and 37th street. On-ramps at 35th street will be closed the week of February to complete work on lane markings. Complaint: Man Points Gun on Freeway Driver During Texting Dispute

A Dousman man tells a Waukesha County deputy he was moving his gun from his hip holster to the passenger seat after telling the other driver to not text and drive, according to the criminal complaint.

A 40-year-old Dousman man is accused of pulling a gun and pointing it at a driver on Interstate-94  after he got upset with the other person’s driving. Tan A. Tran was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of pointing a firearm at another person, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon. If convicted, he faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 8:30 a.m. Sept. 12, a man was driving eastbound on I-94 near Highway C in Delafield when Tran came up behind him and was flashing his lights and honking his horn. WisDOT to Install New Lighting in Marquette Interchange; Lane Closure Expected This Week

The 'digital chevron' system installed will be a first in the state.

Commuters, take note: The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will implement a new technology in the Marquette Interchange from the I-94 eastbound ramp to northbound I-43 in starting July 12. The installation will close the right lane on I-94 eastbound between the 13th Street exit and the connector ramp to I-43 northbound from July 12-15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. While travel times may be longer, John Oimoen, manager with WisDOT, said the operation will ultimately improve operations and safety on our transportation network.” He also said “a new dynamic chevron system is a cost-effective way to help motorists stay alert and monitor their speeds in this area.” This system is the first of its kind in Wisconsin and WisDOT said benefits…
