Donte J. Delamar, 19, of West Allis, faces up to 1.5 years in prison if convicted of leading Waukesha County deputies on a 2.7-mile high speed chase.
When a Waukesha County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a 19-year-old man driving the wrong way near Pewaukee Road and Interstate 94 early Wednesday morning, a 2.7-mile high speed chase ensued, ending when the man crashed his vehicle into two telephone poles south of Buena Vista Avenue in Waukesha, according to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court. The driver, Donte J. Delamar, is charged with attempting to flee or elude a traffic officer. He also was cited for possession of marijuana. Delamar faces up to 1.5 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted. Delamar remains jailed in lieu of $1,500 bail. A 36-year-old Waukesha man is accused of leading Waukesha police officers on a drunken high speed chase before they had to shoot him several times with a less-lethal shotgun and stun him with a Taser in order to arrest him, according to a criminal complaint. Keith D. Lee was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of attempting to flee or elude an officer and one count of second offense operating while intoxicated. The driver outran Brookfield police officers who stopped chase before he drove into the Shire neighborhood. They found his car ditched behind a tree in a backyard, but the man turned himself in a week later.
A Waukesha man led police on a high speed chase through Brookfield and eventually ditched his car behind a pine tree in the back yard of a residence, prosecutors allege. Jermaine L. Williams, 27, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of attempting to flee an officer. If convicted, he faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
