One of the best receivers ever to wear a Packers uniform, Donald Driver, will be ending his 14-year football career as a Green Bay Packer. Driver, a frequent Waukesha visitor, announced that his career has come to an end, with an official retirement ceremony slated for Feb. 6 in the Lambeau Field Atrium. “I would never have expected it, being a seventh-round pick, and a lot of people telling you that you weren’t going to make the team,” Driver told packers.com a few short years ago. Driver retires as one of the most beloved players in franchise history, according to the website. He's remembered for his infectious smile, his humble upbringing and his countless contributions to the community. Here’s an unofficial list of the franchise …

Popular Packer woos the crowd to thank contributors and raise money for charity.
Well-known for bringing the ball into the end zone, Green Bay Packer Donald Driver created another win-win play Friday night. This time the winner was the United Way of Waukesha County. About 200 people attended the second annual United Way of Waukesha County Champions of Giving recognition and celebration. The event was sponsored by Jerry and Judie Couri of Couri Insurance in Waukesha and was held at the home of Jim Lindenberg, owner of the Milwaukee Wave, to acknowledge people who contributed $1,000 or more during the 2011 fundraising campaign. Driver, a champion on the football field with the Packers and on the dance floor in Dancing with the Stars, was a fitting choice for the event, Jerry Couri said. For Driver, however, the event was…

When 9-year-old Alana Strehl, a third-grader at Summit View Elementary School won't forget her school day on Friday anytime soon. That’s because when Alana asked Green Bay Packers wide receiver and Dancing With the Stars champion Donald Driver to show off his favorite dance moves, he agreed to do it on one condition – that Alana would dance with him. “They love the Packers,” said Alana about her family. “I am going to be super excited.” Alana wasn’t the only lucky one to turn the gym into a dance floor. Driver also had Jennifer Jones, an instructional resource teacher, show off her best moves. Jones said she was “overwhelmed” when Driver motioned her over to be his dance partner in front of the whole school. “To be able to tell my husband …

Are you one of the people who helped Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver reach the finals on the popular TV show?
Don’t underestimate this Packers wide receiver's ability. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to Green Bay Packers fans that Donald Driver has the moves. We’ve all seen him wiggle his bum on national TV after a good play. And for the past few months, Packers fans have watched him excel on Dancing With the Stars. Driver needed a miracle to stay alive this week to make it to the show’s finale, wrote the Washington Post. He got that miracle Tuesday night. Is it bad to admit I have yet to see an episode of Dancing With the Stars? I’m not a big TV person and I watch stuff when I get to it. But I’ve seen fans on Donald Driver’s Facebook page cheering him on and talking about voting for him. It makes me curious – what’s your involvement in helping …

Hundreds of people wrapped around the shopping center with the AT&T store at 3825 N. 124th St. to see No. 30, known affectionately as "Kuuuuuuuuhhhhhnnnn!" Once inside, fans stuffed two canned and non-perishable goods into tall boxes for the Hunger Task Force. Colleen Rogers of Brookfield said she waited for about 45 minutes to get in, but that was a snap compared to the more than two hours she waited to see Donald Driver, who was autographing his latest book a few blocks away at Goodwill in Wauwatosa. (Driver also was in Waukesha.) "I already have his other three books and I …

The proceeds of his newest book, Quickie Goes to the Big Game, benefit Goodwill Industries and the Donald Driver Foundation. The third in his series of books, Driver said his books are meant to inspire young children to achieve what they want. “Don’t let…
