Rose Bowl 2013: Local Wisconsin Badgers to Watch

As the Wisconsin Badgers take the field on Tuesday, there are plenty of Waukesha County residents to root for in the game vs. Stanford.

For Waukesha County residents, the Rose Bowl is more than just a long-standing tradition of New Year’s Day football. With several local residents playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, there’s plenty to cheer for this year. Derek Watt, of Pewaukee, is making his own name on the Wisconsin Badgers. After switch from a linebacker to a fullback, Watt’s helped the Badgers’ offense this season with 12 receptions for 150 yards, including a 33-yard catch. Watt also recorded 12 defensive tackles this year. For the Watt Family, It's not Just Football

Waukesha County family has standout football players from the NFL down to high school.

Waukesha Fire Lt. John Watt faces an interesting dilemma this New Year’s: go and watch one son play in the Rose Bowl or go to the Houston Texans game and watch another son play. He says it’s a good dilemma to have. Watt is the father of three football-playing sons – J.J., a rookie defensive end for the Houston Texans, an NFL team that made it to the playoffs for the first time this year; Derek, a freshman linebacker with the Wisconsin Badgers; and T.J., a Pewaukee High School junior who just finished a notable season.
