Town of Brookfield woman dies at age 85.
Connie M. Powers, of the Town of Brookfield, went home to the Lord and her beloved husband on January 10, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born on Oct. 22, 1927, in Mazomaine, WI, the daughter of Jake and Gwen (nee Rogers) Baumgartner. On June 9, 1947, she married Ivan Powers, in Dubuque, IA, he preceded her in death on August 23, 1986. She was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church for 43 years and was very involved in United Methodist Women and served in various positions on the board. She also served on Salem’s Church Council, went to weekly bible study and participated in various volunteer activities, such as, Christmas caroling to shut ins, the Crop Walk and Food Pantry.
