Clay Matthews Lights Up Crowd at WCTC Fundraiser

Clay Matthews was the main speaker during a law enforcement appreciation dinner and fundraiser at Waukesha County Technical College.

The sweaty, wet hair Green Bay Packers fans are used to seeing on Clay Matthews on game day was neatly pulled back as he answered questions from fans in Pewaukee about the NFL draft, his college years and what he bought after receiving his big contract extension. The big purchase, Matthews said, was a boat. Not just any boat, but a used boat as he was trying to be financially smart with his $66 million the linebacker will be paid over the next five years. After the draft, he bought new furniture, but decided to save the money by assemblying the pieces himself, Matthews told a laughing crowd. Watt or Matthews: Who's the Better Football Player?

When it comes to making defensive plays happen, J.J. Watt and Clay Matthews are stars. But who is the best?

They’re both big dudes. They’ve both made significant impact on their football teams. They both have nicknames. The “Claymaker” is Clay Matthews, No. 52 for the Green Bay Packers. Before his injury in the Packers win Nov. 4 over the Arizona Cardinals, he had recorded nine sacks and 21 solo tackles. J.J. Watt’s been a little more aggressive this season. Nicknamed the “Milk Man” and “J.J. Swat,” this Waukesha County native’s become the face of the Houston Texans, attracting attention from giggling girls and even Justin Bieber.
