Fundraiser this month will benefit Abe, who Waukesha police say was severely injured by his aunt while she was babysitting him, and will fight against shaken baby syndrom.
Little Abe Sloan – nearly 6 months old – is healing after police say his aunt confessed to severely injuring him while he was crying on multiple occasions. His family is advocating against child abuse while raising money for Abe’s care and to fight shaken baby syndrome. They are holding a big fundraiser from noon to 9 p.m. April 27 at Sunset Bowl. Tickets are $20 and include three games of bowling, shoe rental, food and raffle tickets. For those that do not want to bowl, tickets are $5. After Abe’s injury the doctor’s told the family and police the injuries done to the then 4-month-old baby in January and February could lead to long-term motor delay, blindness and mental retardation. Waukesha woman tells police she slammed the baby on the couch because he was crying, according to a criminal complaint.
A Waukesha woman injured her 4-month-old nephew so bad that it could cause long-term motor delay, blindness and mental retardation, a criminal complaint alleges. Toni M. Mackay, 36, is charged with physical abuse of a child-recklessly causing great bodily harm. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint: The 4-month-old boy was taken to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin after Mackay sent a text message Feb. 6 to his mother worried because he was “coughing, rigged and was clenched up.” A social worker at the hospital reported the incident to the Waukesha Police Department because the boy had a brain bleed. A 30-year-old Waukesha man is accused of hitting a neighbor's 5- and 3-year-old children and fighting with police, according to a criminal complaint.
A Waukesha man is charged with child abuse and battery to a police officer after police say he struck a neighbor's 5- and 3-year-old children, then shoved and threatened officers who responded to the scene. The entire incident started with a stolen 12-pack of beer. Daniel G. Fife, 30, of Waukesha, was charged Tuesday with battery to a police officer, resisting an officer causing substantial bodily harm/soft tissue injury, two counts of child abuse and one count of resisting an officer. If convicted, Fife faces up to 12 years and nine months in prison. He remains jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
