Teen Charged in Rueben Drive Burglaries

Waukesha man, 19, tells police he didn't need the money and he had no reason to break into the homes, according to the criminal complaint.

A Waukesha teen is accused of stealing laptops, alcohol, money, a video game system, video games, two guns, a hunting bow and a TV during a string of burglaries in September. Derek M. Olson, 19, was charged Tuesday with three counts of burglary and one count of burglary-arming self with a dangerous weapon. He faces up to 32-1/2 years in prison and $125,000 in fines in convicted. According to the complaint: Four homes in the 2000 block of Rueben Drive were burglarized on Sept. 26. The residents of the homes reported missing seven shot glasses, laptops, alcohol, money, a video game system, video games, two guns, a hunting bow and a TV.
