James N. Rivera, 30, threatened to blow up Waukesha bank if he didn't get $5,000 because he was "freaking out" about money problems, according to a criminal complaint.
A 30-year-old Waukesha man has been charged in connection with the robbery of Associated Bank on Dec. 26. An anonymous tip lead police to arrest James N. Rivera for the robbery on Thursday, said Waukesha Police Capt. Ron Oremus. Rivera was charged Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with robbery with the threat of force. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. Rivera remains in the Waukesha County Jail in lieu of $25,000. According to the criminal complaint: A man with a star tattoo under his right eye walked into Associated Bank, 1270 W. Sunset Drive shortly before 1:30 p.m. Dec. 26. Police seeking man with tattoos under his right eye.
This story was updated at 5 p.m. Wednesday to include new information from the Waukesha Police Department. Waukesha police are looking for a man who robbed Associated Bank on Sunset Drive Wednesday afternoon. According to police: A man entered the bank at 1270 W. Sunset Dr., at 1:27 p.m. and implied that he had a weapon. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he left the building. Waukesha police searched surrounding area with the help of the county's K9 unit, but had not located the suspect as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect is a white or Hispanic, between the ages of 28 to 35, between 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, and has several small tattoos beneath his right eye – possibly stars. Suspect is charged in the robbery of First Federal Bank, which took place nearly two years ago.
A 31-year-old Sun Prairie man is facing charges alleging he robbed a Waukesha bank two years ago in downtown Waukesha. Paul E. Tusa was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of robbery with a threat of force. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 1:45 p.m. April 29, 2010, Tusa walked into First Federal Bank and told an employee he was there to make a deposit.
