Waukesha man dies at age 90.
Alfredo Marquez, of Waukesha, died on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 90. He was born in Mexico on July 23, 1922, the son of the late Sabino and Raquel (nee Gonzalez) Marquez. Alfredo came to the United States in 1944 to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Odgen, Utah, during World War II. He later came to Wisconsin where he met, courted and married Maria “Mary” Llanas on Jan. 28, 1948. Alfredo retired from Grede Foundry of Waukesha after 35 years of service. He then worked as a custodian for the Waukesha School District for the next 14 years.
