The speculation and intrigue in the state’s 98th Assembly District election have officially been put to rest – literally. Waukesha County Clerk Kathleen Novack on Wednesday finished canvassing the vote count and posted the official results from the Feb. 19 election. Although there was much ado about the floating absentee ballots last week, the outcome was unchanged. Adam Neylon will still take the seat vacated by state Sen. Paul Farrow in December. However, former Pewaukee Police Chief did trim his 30-vote margin to 29, according to the official results. Speculation that roughly 160 outstanding absentee ballots could alter the outcome of the 98th Assembly District election was put to rest Friday afternoon. On Tuesday, 28-year-old entrepreneur Adam Neylon edged former Pewaukee Police Chief Ed Baumann by 30 votes to represent the 98th Assembly District. The Republican primary election essentially determined the successor to Sen. Paul Farrow, who vacated the seat in December. There are no Democrats running for the seat, so Neylon will run unopposed in April. With just 30 votes separating Baumann and Neylon, several media outlets reported that those outstanding ballots could swing the election. On Election Day, 28-year-old Republican Adam Neylon claimed a slim victory over former Pewaukee Police Chief Ed Baumann in the race for Sen. Paul Farrow’s vacated sat. Neylon clipped Baumann by just 30 votes, and speculation has arisen whether 159 outstanding absentee ballots could turn the tide in favor of Baumann. However, those waves are merely ripples. Adam Neylon, a 28-year-old entrepreneur, narrowly won the special Republican primary election for the 98th Assembly District Tuesday — defeating Pewaukee Police Chief Ed Baumann by just 30 votes. Baumann, Todd Greenwald, Matt Morzy, Neylon and Jeanne Tarantino ran in a five-way Republican race to replace Paul Farrow, who was elected to the 33rd Senate District seat in December. With no Democrat challenger in the mix, Tuesday's primary election was essentially winner take all. Neylon will be unopposed in the April 2 special election. Rachel Pecor, former campaign strategist for 98th State Assembly candidate Jeanne Tarantino, was arrested for her second OWI on Tuesday in the Village of Pewaukee as she was on her way to pick up Tarantino's daughter from dance class. Pecor was pulled over at Main Street and Prospect Avenue after she veered into the wrong lane while crossing the center line, according to a police report. She failed a field sobriety test and a breath test, registering a .20 blood-alcohol level, more than twice the legal limit. The divorce file of Jeanne Tarantino, former aide to Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, has been sealed after it was revealed that she claimed gender discrimination while working in Kleefisch's office.
State 98th Assembly District candidate Jeanne Tarantino's divorce file has been sealed by a Waukesha County Circuit Judge after it was revealed that she claimed discrimination while employed in the Lt. Governor office, reported Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch’s 2010 campaign manager said she was discriminated against and transferred last month from her state job because of her age and gender. Tarantino said this while being questioned in December as part of legal dispute with her ex-husband. Staffers from the Lt. Governor's office have denied the claim. Kleefisch has endorsed Tarantino in her Assembly race. Tarantino will be running against four others for an open seat in the 98th Assembly District. …
