La Casa de Esperanza started out in 1966 as History Builders. This was a child-care group helping children ofMore Spanish-speaking homes make a smoother transition into the English-speaking school district of Waukesha. Now La Casa, the organization has grown and spread into the community as a positive force of growth, development and educational support.

La Casa offers the community five fundamental programs, including a Children, Family and Youth Program, which includes a thriving Early Childhood Education Center; Workforce Development to aid low-income people seeking economic self-sufficiency; La Casa Village I and II, which offers affordable and private apartments to low-income seniors and disabled individuals; the Weatherization Program, which identifies energy waste and provides energy -aving measures and education to low-income residential households; and La Casa Clinica, which specializes in mental health, alcohol and drug treatment programs.
