Obituary: Graysen Lucas Knutowski

Pewaukee baby died unexpectedly at 8 weeks old.

Graysen Lucas Knutowski, of Pewaukee, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the tender age of 8 weeks. He was born in Summit on March 19, 2012, the son of Lucas Knutowski and Rachel Simons. Graysen was a very happy baby all the time and was greatly loved. He will be forever missed by his loving parents Lucas and Rachel of Pewaukee, his big brother Gaige Hecht of Pewaukee and by the Baxter family, the Simons family, the Knutowski family, the Sanden family and the Kernz family.  He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Obituary: Griffith S. Jones II

Waukesha man dies at age 88.

Griffith S. Jones II, of Waukesha passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the age of 88. He was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Wauwatosa the son of Griffith and Helen (nee Fairbarian) Jones. Griffith worked for Waukesha Engine for 43 years until his retirement in 1986. He lived life to the fullest enjoying swimming, walking, hiking, biking and any outdoor activity. Griffith enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to the police scanner and belonged to The Old-timers club at Waukesha Engine. Alderman Remembered for Wanting to Make Waukesha 'A Better Place to Live'

Brian White, who served as 6th District alderman since April 2011, died of heart failure on Sunday.

Waukesha Alderman Brian White, who died Sunday from heart failure, is being remembered as someone who did whatever he could to make the city a great place to live. “He knew what he believed in and what he liked, and he fought for what he believed in,” said his brother, Alan White. “All communities go through changes and there were changes he didn’t believe in that passed or got through, but he did his part to keep the things he believed in in the community.” Brian White, who was 55, died at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Alan White said his brother was very active throughout the community and in other activities, such as the Tripoli Rocketry Association, ham radio and volunteering at the National Weather Service station in Sullivan. Waukesha woman dies at age 61.

Linda Jo Schaeffer, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 61.  She was born in Milwaukee on September 14, 1950 the daughter of Melvin and Dorothy (nee Ondrejka) Schaeffer.  Linda worked for Wisconsin Bell in the 1970s and for Federated Realty in Milwaukee.  She then worked as a caregiver at Lutheran Social Services until their closing in January of this year.  She will be sadly missed by her longtime partner in life Irma Rodriguez of Waukesha, her sister Barbara L. Obituary: G. Edward “Ed” Piala

Waukesha man, who was a World War II veteran, helped establish Piala’s Nursery and Garden Shop.

Gaza E. Piala aka G. Edward “Ed” Piala passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born June 13, 1918. He is survived by three children, James (Catherine) Piala, John (Suzan) Piala, and Marilyn (Shawn) Harms, seven grandsons, a granddaughter, two great grandsons and his brother Joseph (Madelon) Piala.  Preceded in death by his wife, Mary, sister Emily (Ed) Mezerski, grandsons, David Piala and Roy Piala and a nephew Thomas Piala. Ed graduated from Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee where he studied business administration and accounting.  He was a federal civil service employee for 37 years.  Thirty-one of these years he worked in Chicago for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Commodity Futures Authority.  …

Obituary: Arlene Kay Scherf

Waukesha woman passes away after long illness.

Arlene Kay Scherf, a lifelong Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully following a long illness on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 68. She was born in Waukesha on June 9, 1943, the daughter of Steve and Francis (nee Congemi) Italiano.  She was a 1961 graduate of Waukesha South High School.  On Aug. 21, 1965, she married Donald Scherf.  Along with her husband she owned and managed properties throughout the Waukesha area. Arlene was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed many trips, but her greatest joy was her family who was very important to her and she loved dearly. Obituary: Gretchen Hattie Bertha Jensen

Waukesha woman took many first-place prizes for knitting and sewing at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Gretchen Hattie Bertha Jensen, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at her son’s home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Gretchen was born in Ixonia, WI, on Feb. 22, 1917, the daughter of Edward and Marie Serafina (nee Dolles) Schmidt. She married Roland G. Jensen on May 20, 1937. Gretchen worked at McCoy’s and the old Waukesha Walgreens where she ran the cosmetics department for over 20 years. She taught knitting at the Schuetze Building and she won many first-place prizes for her knitting and sewing at the Wisconsin State Fair. Obituary: Melvin L. Green

Waukesha man was a member of the reserve police unit.

Melvin L. Green, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Season’s Hospice at the age of 78. He was born on Jan. 31, 1934, in Waukesha, the son of Lloyd and Margaret (nee Murray) Green.  He was a 1953 graduate of Waukesha High School.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Red Arrow Division.  On May 28, 1955, he married the former Doris Draeger. He had worked for Eaton Corporation, retiring in 1999. For many years he was a member of Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, in Waukesha, and participated in their dart ball league and was currently a member of First Congregational Church of East Troy.
