Updated 97th Profiles (Banske/Trovato)

Joe Banske:

Joe Banske is a former Town of Waukesha Supervisor who was recently defeated in a very close & contentious election this past April. Much has been made about his loss in this campaign and how he is running again right after he lost. I personally don't find any problem with that as he is just trying to serve the community as best as he can. He did however get into some hot water lately with some other candidates and the local media for apparently campaigning in the Waukesha 4th of July Parade. http://www.wigderson.com/joe-banskes-parade-of-lies/

While some might see this as a minor slight, others have surely seen this as a more serious error. I don't really find much to really say negatively about Mr. Banske other than some of his tactics and a knack to rub people the wrong way. He seems to have no problem taking shots at other candidates record out in the open on twitter and on his website. One of the reasons he surely lost his last election was because his bold and blunt style either wore out it's welcome or he ended up on the wrong end of the same treatment. With the recent public filings of campaign cash on hand, Mr. Banske looks to be playing quite a bit of catch-up.

Vince Trovato:

I don't have a whole lot to say about Mr. Trovato because I honestly have never heard of him until this election. As that was the case for Mr. Rosner who I discussed recently (http://waukesha.patch.com/groups/waukesha-county-politics/p/a-fresh-start_6d8da9e4) I have not found anything that really rubs me the wrong way. He seems like a good conservative and loyal GOP guy, which is good, but I don't see him setting himself apart from the field at all. I am not sure yet how his financing has played out, but he will surely have a long way to go, and without any real name recognition his campaign may serve as nothing more than a way to raise his profile in the community.

He recently did what could be equated to as conservative missionary work in the Sudan helping their country learn about government and effective government as the GOP imagines. This is truly a noble cause and he should be commended. He has pretty solid connections as a former assembly aide and should find work without much trouble in Madison in a similar capacity next year if he so chooses.

So far I have a pretty good idea who I will be supporting and the three I have discussed so far don't really fit the bill. We have about 3 weeks left in this race and things will probably get a lot more interesting as all the campaigns will start emptying their war chests.
