Volunteer Opportunities: Mentor a Child; Help the Elderly

Customer Service Support, Energy Services in Waukesha
Help get residents connected to energy support by calling to offer assistance. We need volunteers to follow-up from a system list to set-up appointments to assist income eligible families that are in need of utility assistance. Volunteers with good communication skills and good customer service should call us today. You may set your schedule between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Training and assistance will be provided by our staff.

Requirements: must be 18 years or older and pleasant phone skills.

Mobile Meal Drivers Needed Throughout Waukesha County
ADRC has a need for drivers to deliver meals once a week or twice a month to older adults. Receiving this meal allows home bound individuals to live longer in their own home and helps them receive proper nutrition and maintain their independence. Help is needed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays in the following locations: Brookfield, Butler, Hartland, Menomonee Falls, Mukwonago, Muskego, New Berlin, Oconomowoc, Sussex and Waukesha. Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old (children with families must be over the age of 6), have reliable transportation, possess a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance. There will be a background check on all who apply

Kind Hearts Needed for Friendly Visits, Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Waukesha
We are looking for kind hearts seeking to make a real difference in the lives of terminally ill adults. If you enjoy reading, sharing memories, being a good listener or sharing any other talents you have, please come visit with our clients. An hour a week can provide so much comfort and care to our patients and families. Volunteers are required to complete new volunteer training as well as a criminal background check and TB test (Seasons provides). Individuals must be at least 18 years of age. Evening and weekend hours are available.

Big Brother or Big Sister Volunteer, Waukesha
Share time with a child in a one-on-one mentoring and be a part of positive change in the community. Hang out and do simple, fun things together, watch a movie or cook a meal together. Simple activities leave a big impact, creating opportunities for a child to imagine new possibilities. Volunteers see the child they are matched with three to four times a month. We also accommodate couples who would like to mentor a child together. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and have a high school degree or equivalency. The enrollment process includes references, background checks, and an interview.
