Volunteer Opportunities in Recreation, Education, Hospice

Volunteers are needed for these United Way activities.

Recreation Assistant for Adults with Disabilities,

Volunteer will assist adults with disabilities with recreational activities. Volunteers will be needed Monday-Friday anywhere from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities could include rock climbing, bowling, fishing, cross country skiing and working at the YMCA. Each week is different on the activities that are needed for assistance. Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum 18. Applications and background checks are required.

Seniors and Students Tutoring Program, Retired And Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

Opportunity to tutor elementary aged children in math or reading at Waukesha elementary schools. Individualized placement available for what works with your schedule. Come and make a difference in the life of a child! Requirements: Volunteers should be 55+. Volunteers must provide their own transportation. Background check is required.

Facilitator Assistant - Children's Groups,

Help co-facilitate our children's classes. Classes take place Monday through Thursday evenings for two hours; times range between 5 to 8 p.m. Co-facilitators will assist with class management. On-sight training will be provided. Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18. Volunteers must enjoy working with children.

Hospice Companion Volunteer, Hospice Advantage

Hospice Advantage Companion Volunteers help to personalize, support and enhance the quality of our patients' lives by bringing the gift of friendship to our patients through regular visits. Volunteer hours are flexible and scheduled to your availability. Duties are assigned based on your abilities and comfort level. All hospice volunteers providing direct patient assistance: must be at least 18-years old and must complete the Hospice Advantage orientation and training. Located in Pewaukee.
