United Way Seeks Volunteer Award Nominations

Editor's note: The following information was provided to Patch via a news release from United Way in Waukesha County.

seeks nominations for its ‘Inspire by Example’ Volunteer Awards, which recognize individuals and groups who have performed outstanding volunteer service within Waukesha County in the past year. The nomination deadline is Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.

Nominations are sought within four categories:

  • Volunteer of the Year - presented to an individual, or couple, who has provided exemplary volunteer service to a nonprofit organization within Waukesha County
  • Youth Volunteer of the Year - presented to a high school student who has provided exemplary volunteer service to a nonprofit organization within Waukesha County
  • Group Volunteers of the Year (three or more individuals) - presented to a team of volunteers (adults, youth, or combination) that has initiated and implemented a project or program with benefits to a community within Waukesha County
  • Business Partner of the Year - presented to a business that has mobilized a group of employee volunteers from within to help a community within Waukesha County with an exemplary project or program.

A panel of community leaders, independent of United Way, will review all nominations and select one winner for each of the four Award Categories who ‘Inspires by Example.’ Awards will be presented by United Way in Waukesha County at the annual ‘Inspire by Example’ Award Ceremony & Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, April 17, 2012. The winners within each award category will be awarded $500 payable to the winners’ choice of designated nonprofit.
