United Way in Waukesha County Exceeds Fundraising Goal

is projecting to raise $4.35 million as a final total to their 2011 campaign, a 6 percent increase over what was raised in 2010. This also exceeds the goal set of $4.3 million. 

“United Way in Waukesha County is excited to be able to invest over $4 million in the community this year. Our largest companies all increased their contributions this year, as did many smaller companies and individuals,” said Joan Shafer, 2011 Annual Campaign Co-Chair.

John Robertstad, Annual Campaign Co-Chair spoke to the necessity of reaching the $4.3 million campaign goal set by United Way in Waukesha County’s Board of Directors.

“We knew that it would take serious effort to achieve the $4.3 million goal; but our partner agencies, and most importantly, members of our community are depending on United Way to be an active leader in supporting the various health and human services throughout Waukesha County,” said Robertstad.

Paul Melnick, Board President of United Way in Waukesha County, appreciates the leadership taken by some of United Way’s supporting organizations to demonstrate the importance of making a contribution to the campaign.

“A successful United Way Campaign results in a healthier community in 2012,” Melnick said. “We finished our local campaign strong and demonstrated that Waukesha County businesses and residents respond when called to action.”

United Way in Waukesha County will celebrate the success of their annual campaign and recognize the 2011 Outstanding Campaigns at their Annual Appreciation Breakfast on February 7 at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.
