Holiday Volunteer Opportunities are Plentiful in Waukesha County

From gift wrapping presents to making Christmas stockings, the United Way of Waukesha County is looking for help this holiday season.

To sign up for any of these volunteer opportunities or to learn more about volunteering, check out the United Way Volunteer Center. The following volunteer opportunities are available through the

St. Nick’s Helper
Assemble Christmas stocks for children, adults, and seniors. Bring in the holiday spirit by making stockings individually or with a group. For children, stockings may include treats, toys, mittens, or hats. For adults or seniors, stockings may include personal care items, treats, small gifts, hats, or mittens.

Donation Sorter
Assist Healthy Families of Waukesha County, Inc. by organizing donated clothes and toys. Donate 2 hours during the workday between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Holiday Gift Wrapping
Volunteer to help The Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha by wrapping gifts at Barnes & Noble (Brookfield Square) on Wednesday, Dec. 21 and Thursday, Dec. 22. Choose a two- to three-hour shift between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. All tips will be donated to the agency to improve community member’s literacy skills.

Lunch Time Companion at Adult Day Center
Provide mid-day cheer to seniors visiting Catholic Charities’ Adult Day Center in New Berlin during weekdays between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Assist with lunchtime, cleanup, and visiting with participants.
