Brookfield, Sussex Ranch-Style Condominiums Selling Fast as Housing Market Improves

In less than a year, the Glen at Seven Stones in Sussex has sold more than half of the available ranch-style units. It's one more sign that the housing market is slowly getting back on its feet.

Cornerstone Development Succeeds Offering Appealing Lifestyle Options

While industry experts remain hopeful that the nation’s housing market will show more signs of improvement in 2013, one suburban condominium developer continues to enjoy remarkable success with ranch-style condominium neighborhoods. Cornerstone Development of S.E. Wisconsin now counts The Glen of Brookfield and The Glen at Seven Stones in Sussex as the latest additions to the company’s growing success story.

The Glen of Brookfield, located just east of Moorland Road and the Brookfield Suites Hotel, opened in 2010 and in three short years, 45 of the neighborhood’s 46 units have been sold. The homes range from 1,137 to 1,861 square feet and offer courtyards, decks and basements with exposures, including several with walk-outs.  The homes ranged in price from the $250,000’s to over $500,000.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with how well-received the buying public has accepted our ranch-style condominiums,” said John Wahlen, owner of Cornerstone Development, an Epcon communities developer. “Ranch-style condominiums are popular because many buyers want new, single-story homes in the suburbs.  They also wish to stay close to where they have been living, get a home built the way they want it, with warranties, and have someone else perform yard work and other maintenance. Our condominiums have been popular because they also include a clubhouse, pool and other amenities. In short, it’s not just a home. It’s a lifestyle.”

Meanwhile, in Sussex, The Glen at Seven Stones condominium community opened last July and already 31 of the 56 homes have been sold. Sitting high above Sussex with beautiful views of the surrounding area, the neighborhood is located just south of Lisbon Road at Highway164. The Glen at Seven Stones features ranch-style homes along with a beautiful clubhouse with a fitness center, large-screen TV, fireplace, full kitchen and a community room for group events. The community will also add a heated outdoor pool and outdoor amphitheater, as well.

The Euro-Country styled homes are open, airy, ranch-style 2+ bedroom homes. Prices range from $269,999 to $389,999 and from 1,400 square feet to 1,861 square feet (not including basements). The homes also feature quality finishes, courtyards, patios, some with walkouts and others with lookouts are available. The beautiful neighborhood features ponds, waterfalls and is convenient to new retail shopping, Arrowhead schools and Highway I-94.

“We are very excited about the future,” said Wahlen. “The housing arena has certainly had its challenges, but that doesn’t override the need that people have, in some cases the absolute need, to get out of a single family living situation. Or, sometimes someone has to move because of a change in life status.  The needs don’t go away, nor do the desires for low-maintenance living.”
