Local Bank Helps Save Pewaukee Fireworks

The rocket's red glare will be seen in the skies over Pewaukee on the Fourth of July now that enough has been raised for the local fireworks display to take place.

Organizers had announced earlier that the fireworks would be canceled after donations to fund the display came up $7,000 short. That's when North Shore Bank stepped up and said it would match any donations received through Monday up to $3,500.

The bank announced Tuesday that the goal had been met and that the show would go on.

"North Shore Bank accepted donations at its Pewaukee branch and was able to raise over $3,500 in under two weeks with the help of residents and non-profit groups with all funds raised will go directly to the fireworks show," the bank said in a statement.

"One of North Shore Bank’s primary goals is to support community events, such as these fireworks. The bank is happy to have helped keep this tradition alive and is proud to serve such a caring and giving community."

The fireworks will begin at dusk on July 4 at Lakefront Park.
